Heartbreak

Today we got a call that no puppy raiser wants to get. We were told that Polaris who i had transferred in the summer was ccd this week. We were offered the chance to adopt him, but there was one condition wed have to transfer Andrew. Now i love andrew to much to transfer him so we were hoping to place him with someone we know like weve done in the past. Problem is he has a lot of special needs to be met and no one we know meets these requirements which is leaving us with the heartbreaking decision to have the school place him. While the school places them in great homes there is one problem you usually dont see them again and the thought of never seeing polaris again is heartbreaking. Ecspecially since when we transferred him we were holdinh on to the hope that if he was ccd we would get him back. Now hes ccd and we are having to say goodbye yet again its really hard saying goodbye to him.

  4. Aw :( I'm sorry... His sister Padma works at the same hospital Carrie does. I hope he finds a fantastic home. It will be really hard to have GDB place him but at least you will know that they will find him the perfect family.

  5. @bethany polaris was ccd because of severe fear issues. He has always been a soft temperment puppy and just never out grew it. Also he was having an issue of being possesive of his toys. Since hes possesive of his toys so for andrew's safety we wouldnt be allowed both. Also they do not want Andrew to see polaris being scared and develop any fear issues then

  6. I had my first puppy, Martin, placed by the school when he was cc'd. This was about fifteen years ago. I asked the placement guy to give my name and number to the people that took Marty, and I asked him to send them a bunch of pictures I had of his puppy hood.

Whilst I didn't see Martin again, I did hear from the raisers about once a year and they'd give me a picture of him.

I'd suggest asking the placement dude, after he finds the perfect family, to ask if they'd be open to an "open adoption" like I had.
